Kids were excited to participate in this interscholastic competition! The learning challenges not only developed self-esteem and improved self-confidence, but also promoted the value of each child’s identity. The winners’ faces lit up with joy and hope when they received monetary prizes. In tears, I looked at the photo of a few young boys huddled together in a blanket to go outside in the freezing Pakistani winter weather. I simply had to post that picture on my Facebook wall – and it touched people’s hearts. Soon, one of my friends felt such compassion for these people that she sent us 500 euros to buy warm clothes for needy people in Pakistan. My husband Samson went to a factory and spoke to the owner, explaining the need. The owner gave him a special bulk pricing on warm sweaters in many different sizes and styles. Now, not only children but also their parents could enjoy some new, warm clothes for winter months. There are many more people in Pakistan who are in need of warm clothing to wear during winter! In 2021 we purchased 800 sacks of quality grain, transported it to the city and stored at a storage unit. There is one flour distribution center in Islamabad and another one in a village near the city of Sialkot. So far there is no mill in this village, so we just give out the grain to the needy people and they have to find a mill to make flour.
